Scores the worst jump between adjacent columns across a window straddling the wrap, measured against how much neighbouring columns normally differ nearby.
1.0× means the join is indistinguishable from ordinary detail. Camera captures land at 1.0–1.4×. Anything past 2× is measurably worse than a real photograph.
Eases each edge toward the midpoint across a wide band. Fixes brightness and colour steps and costs no detail — nothing is blurred or duplicated. Always try this alone first.
Cross-fades columns either side of the join. Handles structural mismatch, but it blends two different scenes together, so past about 30px you get visible ghosting. Use the least that works.
If tone match barely moves the number, the seam isn't tonal — the two edges disagree about what's actually there, and no amount of blending invents the missing content. That's a generation problem, not a post-process one. Re-roll the seed instead.
